Favourite Books on Reptiles

This one is an ebook, but is valuable reading: "Turtle and Terrapin Care Guide"

"Australian Snakes : A Natural History"
by Dr Richard Shine, is one of the best books on snakes I've ever read.
Lots of anecdotes, and written in an easy to read manner.

"
Pythons of the World, Volume I, Australia"
Another excellent book, by David G Barker & Tracy M Barker.
Quite hard to find, but try the authors' website - they may still have some.

"Pythons of Australia"   by Brian A Kend.
Beautiful painting of a Black Headed Python on the cover.

"Care of Australian Reptiles in Captivity
by John Weigel is just about a classic now.

Another classic is "Reptiles and Amphibians of Australia
by H G Cogger.    There are several editions of this one.

"Pythons of Australia : A Natural History"
by Geordie Torr goes into anatomy, physiology, etc.   Plenty of information in this one.

Steve Wilson & Gerry Swan have written
"
A Complete Guide to Reptiles of Australia"

John & Roxanne Rossi's "What's Wrong with my Snake?
is an excellent guide to preventing disease in your herparium.    Every snake owner should have a copy of this one in their library.

 Graham Gow's "Snakes of Australia
is one I've had for years, in fact it was the first I ever bought.

For a basic beginners book, try "The Guide to Owning an Australian Python"
by John Coborn.     Has some great photos, and is an easy read.
