Cats & Snakes Don't Mix!
Today, I took my 8ft python,
Simbi, outside for some exercise. He loves to get out of his cage,
when it's warm enough.
When he's out, of course, it is always a good idea to make sure than none of the other pets are nearby, because he'd love to eat them, especially the cat. She's just the size of a rabbit, and he really enjoys a rabbit.
Tia, the cat, is a bit jealous of the snakes, naturally, so makes a point of turning up whenever I open the cage doors. This afternoon, she was outside, lying under a tree, and so Snake and I took ourselves to the driveway on the other side of the garden.

Tia teasing Simbi, but she knows he can't get her, because he's locked in the outside cage.

Simbi was feeling quite active, and was moving around in the sun, checking out all the smells against the fence, when Tia decided he was getting too much attention, and strolled over in our direction. She's a real spoilsport, that cat!
At first, she stopped when told, and sat under a bush, but that lasted all of a minute, before she decided that she wanted to be with me, and walked within striking distance of Simbi.
Of course, at this point, there was nothing to do but take the snake inside, because no way was that cat going to permit me to continue paying attention to him. At least he'd had about fifteen minutes in the sun, which is really good for keeping his colour bright.
